What Kind of Systems Do I Work On
From 2024 until 2026 I worked on systems that control tunnels, bridges, and water pumps. These are not games or apps you can restart if something goes wrong. If these systems fail, people can get stuck, traffic can stop, or dangerous situations can happen. That is why it is very important that everything works correctly.
What Does Verification Mean
Verification means checking if something is built the right way. In my job, I check if the software follows the rules and plans that were written down.
What I Do Every Day
I read documents like Standaardbestek 270, OPC UA basistekst that explain how a system should work. I do checklist based testing, I follow a list of checks that needs to be done to verify if a bridge, shiplock or pumpstation is designed in the right way. I do not build the system myself, but I help make sure it is safe, reliable, and understandable for the people who use it and maintain it.
